2. When and how did Funked Up start?

Funked Up was created during the summer of 2008 after a day of riding BMX in our home town Abbekås, when Charlie asked Mårten if he wanted to play some covers. The same summer, Dennis broke Pelle’s leg after many intense games on Abbekås soccer field, which put Pelle in a wheelchair, where he gained an interest in playing the bass. Charlie, Mårten and Pelle started to play together, but were missing a drummer.

After using a drum machine on a keyboard for some time, the three of them asked Charlie’s brother Dennis if he would like to become their drummer.  Dennis, who had never touched a drum set, learned incredibly fast. And that’s how it all started.

3.  So how would you explain your process when writing/producing your music?

It almost always starts with jamming, and after a while a concrete idea takes form, e.g. a riff or a special ryhthm. Then we repeat the idea over and over again, until we all get that feeling. It is usually quite noticable as we all start laughing hysterically. We don’t know why, but laughing has always been our first reaction when we’ve realized something great!

4. What are your aspirations with Funked Up?

To continue to have as fun with it as we do today. If we ever are able to earn a living through Funked Up, it would be better than a dream.

5. How do you plan to distribute and market your music, and how do you work with Social Media to market your gigs?

Obviously, we always use our Facebook Page to promote any exciting happenings. We have also been in contact with a few cool blogs and music representatives that have written about us. We are working very hard to disseminate our music.

6. So, what are your plans for the near future?

Our next big project is to record a full album. Other than that, we will continue to rehearse, play live and evolve as much as possible.

7. If you could suggest another band through Emues.com, which would it be?

Majken Tajken! It is almost the world’s best band!
